Where should I file paycheck stubs?
For tax purposes, typically individual paycheck stubs are replaced by a year-end W-2 form from your employer, although the last paycheck stub is sometimes needed for determining contributions to health savings accounts, union dues, and the like. Therefore it is good practice to file both the last paycheck stub and the W-2 in the light-blue tax section (i.e. "Tax Documents" or "Income W2/1099 Misc."). Otherwise paycheck stubs can be filed by month in the green section.
